What is Women in Nuclear Africa
Women in Nuclear Africa (WiN Africa) is a regional Chapter Women of Nuclear Global (WiN Global) that aims to represent women in all nuclear related professions within Africa and to provide mentoring for advancing the progress of women in the nuclear field.
WiN Africa advances the safe, secure and peaceful uses of nuclear science and technology while advocating gender equality.
WiN Africa and the individual WiN Africa Chapters also encourage men to join to collaborate with them.
Objectives for WiN Africa

Welcoming Address
Dear Colleagues
It is a pleasure for us to welcome you to attend 30th WiN Global Annual Conference jointly with First Conference for Women in Nuclear Africa 12- 16 November 2023 Aswan – Egypt.
The Theme of the Conference is “Women for sustainable Development of Nuclear and Radiation Applications.”
This theme has been chosen to allow integration of presentations from all applications of nuclear technology, from energy generation and developments in NPP technologies, to life-saving medical breakthroughs and radiation treatments. When referring to nuclear the focus is too often directed solely on electricity generations and too little is said about the numerous applications of peaceful nuclear technologies. Such applications provide socio-economic solutions to so many sustainability challenges.
In the proven concept of this conference, further subjects comprise the presentation of new insights in radiation applications in nuclear medicine, biology, physics and radiation protection and food security. This event offers the opportunity to bring together a broad spectrum of women and men experts for professional and multidisciplinary exchange of experience and expertise in this domain. Special attendance is attached to the fact that these aspects will be presented in a comprehensive form for a broader audience thus facilitating the idea of continuous education.
We invite you to attend this scientific, but also practice-oriented event, which offers plenty of opportunities for extensive discussions, to establish new contacts and to strengthen existing relationships after the oral presentations and during the poster sessions.
